Haldi

Haldi, aka Turmeric, is a common spice in Indian cooking. With it’s rise in popularity mid 2010s, it’s mixed in a lot of vitamin supplements and even lattes. In weddings, the Haldi ceremony is still considered sacred-but it’s become more playful like many other pre-wedding events. Traditionally, it takes place the morning of the wedding. But knowing it’s heavy staining capabilities, more brides are choosing to have it on an earlier date. This is a way for family and friends to bless the bride and groom by smearing turmeric paste and wishing them well. It got pretty messy but Abhi knew he couldn’t get it into my hair so he played nice.
